International experience and graduate employability: stakeholder perceptions on the connection

Growing globalisation and internationalisation has expanded the need for graduates with the competency to function under culturally diverse conditions. Universities have placed emphasis on exchange as part of internationalisation to prepare students for the workforce.

In this study, the findings suggest that all stakeholders establish distinctive association between international experience and employability in relation to the forging of networks, opportunities for experiential learning, language acquisition and advancement of soft skills, including cultural understandings, personal characteristics and critical thinking.
