The largest ranking of its kind, QS World University Rankings by Subject 2018 showcases some of the best global universities for 48 different subjects. Two new subjects have been included in this year’s rankings: Classic & Ancient History and Library & Information Management.
The subject rankings serve as a fundamental tool for students when choosing universities, as it provides them a benchmark to shortlist and evaluate universities of their interest.
This year’s results saw Harvard University clinching the top position once again with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the University of Oxford following close behind. Despite so, all in all, there has been a decline in universities in the United States across subjects. Universities from China and Russia have also experienced a gradually slide in advancement, while French and Brazilian universities encountered a downturn on the whole.
