FAQ

QS WOWNewswire FAQ

What is QS WOWNewswire?

QS WOWNewswire is a platform for institutions of higher learning (and related organizations) to submit news stories and press releases. These stories are then made searchable and distributed to the global readership of QS WOWNewswire. In some cases they may be picked up by QS WOWNEWS, QS News Bites and other higher education news publications.

Who can submit stories?

To submit stories you need to register. We will generally only accept accounts from universities and related institutions such as accreditation agencies, PR agencies which represent a university, etc. We manually screen new registrations.

We will generally accept only one account per university. But if a university requests multiple accounts, because certain units are autonomous or for another good reason, we will allow the creation of additional accounts.

Do you publish every story?

In principle, yes. You can submit stories about achievements of your university, its students and faculty, new partnerships, new programs, events, research, etc. However please make sure that you own the copyright to the story (and pictures) or that they are in the public domain. Stories which defame or slander other universities, countries, individuals or groups of people will be rejected.

Do you edit stories?

No. We publish stories as we receive them.

Do you write stories?

No. But we do publish press releases from our own company, QS.

How much does it cost?

It’s free! We do not charge for submitting stories or publishing them on the QS WOWNewswire website.

Do you offer premium services?

Right now, you can purchase advertising banners on QS WOWNewswire. Please contact enquiries@qs-asia.com for rates and a booking form.

Why can’t I comment on stories?

We do not have the manpower to moderate comments. If you wish to comment, you can share the story via social media and add your own comment.

What should I do if I want QS WOWNewswire to remove a story?

You can “flag” the story with the “flag a story” button and state your reason for wanting the story removed. Our editors will then review your request. In case of copyright violations or other legal issues, you may also write to us at newswire@qs-asia.com.

Can I submit stories anonymously?

No.

If I give you a tip or send you an envelope with secret information, will you write a story about it?

No. We’re not journalists. We don’t write stories. Try WikiLeaks.

Is QS WOWNewswire indexed by Google News?

Not yet, but we’re working on it. But our pages are “crawled” by various search engines.

How does QS WOWNewswire help readers?

QS WOWNewswire provides you news directly from the source. This can be very useful for researchers, policy makers, journalists, etc. By making all this information searchable in one place, it becomes much easier to learn about the higher education sector around the world.

What is the difference between QS WOWNewswire and QS WOWNEWS?

QS WOWNewswire is quick and unedited. If you submit a story it is usually up on the website within 24 hours. QS WOWNEWS is only published four times a year and contains stories that are carefully selected and edited. Popular or high quality QS WOWNewswire stories can get included in QS WOWNEWS.
