The QS BRICS University Rankings 2018 which features 300 top universities from Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS) has placed Tezpur University in the 171-180th rank. The Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati (IITG) also managed to clinch the 52nd position in the list.
Launched in 2013, the QS BRICS University Rankings is an annual ranking of the top universities in the five BRICS countries. Eight indicators were used in the methodology and they are: academic reputation (30%), Employer reputation (20%), Faculty/student ratio (20%), Staff with a PhD (10%), Papers per faculty (10%), Citations per paper (5%), International faculty (2.5%) and International students (2.5%).
In total, 65 Indian universities have been placed in the QS BRICS University Rankings 2018 with the following universities making it to the top 20: IIT Bombay (9th position), IISc Bangalore (10th position), IIT Delhi (17th position) and IIT Madras (18th position).
