Oman – At the prestigious Riyada Entrepreneurship Awards On January 26, 2016, Caledonian College of Engineering (CCE) was recognised for promoting entrepreneurship through the Best Educational Initiative award. CCE was associated with a second award as graduate Ms Siham Al Siyabia won second place for “Best Business Plan Idea”.

The awards, launched by the Public Authority for SME Development, prove that Caledonians vision – to be a regional leader in developing creative and entrepreneurial engineers and a referral centre for innovative solutions — is materializing.

Reflecting on this important milestone, CCE dean, Dr Ahmed Hassan Al Bulushi, said: “We open students’ minds today for a greater future tomorrow. They complete rigorous entrepreneurship training through assessed modules and through an annual Entrepreneurship Fair.”

An incubator facility, run by Caledonian’s Centre for Research and Innovation, further encourages students to be creative, learn from current successful entrepreneurs and showcase their initiatives.
