Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri graciously granted permission to the Chaipattana Foundation to allocate some of the funds from the “Chaipattana Covid-19 Aid Fund (and Other Pandemics)” to build Modular Screening and Swab Unit for Thammasat Hospital to help minimize direct contact with patients and the spreading of the virus.
Screening and Swab Unit will be installed at the 1st floor Outpatient Building, M.R.Suvaphan Sanitwongse Building Thammasat University Hospital Khlong Nueng Pathum Thani Province.
Dr. Sumet Tantivejkul, Secretary-General of the Chaipattana Foundation, handed over the units to Thammasat University Hospital. The units have been received by Prof. Suraphol Nitikraipot, Chairman of the executive board of Thammasat University Hospital, Assoc. Prof. Kesinee Withoonchart, Rector of Thammasat University, Prof. Dr. Pharuhat Tor-Udom, Director of Thammasat University Hospital, and the transferring was witnessed by Mr. Rungrote Rangsiyopash, President of Siam Cement Group (SCG), Mr. Pornwut Sarasin, Chairman of ThaiNamthip Company Limited, Mr. Yuenyong Opakul, Senior Deputy Managing Dir at Carabao Group PCL.
There are 3 Screening units and 3 Swab Unit rooms which will be used in screening patients infected with COVID-19, Emerging Infectious Diseases, and respiratory infectious diseases to help reduce the contact between patients and medical staff.
Other than Thammasat University, Chaipattana Foundation has also helped to build the facilities for 3 other hospitals; Somdet Phra Yuppharat Yaha Hospitals in Yala Province, Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital in Chiang Mai Province and Srinagarind Hospital in Khon Kaen.
