With an aim to equip the learners with the creativity and the mind-set to function as entrepreneur, School of Business, Manipal University, Dubai, successfully organized its First International Annual Entrepreneurship Conference on February 15th & 16th 2017. This two-day International Conference was modelled on the Babson College Entrepreneurship Research Conference and the Australian Centre for Entrepreneurship Research Exchange Conferences and aimed at fostering entrepreneurship research in the region. “Entrepreneurship”, the pivotal theme of the conference, attracted the attention of numerous indigenous and international academicians, researcher and students.
The conference received an overwhelming response; 24 research papers on nuances of topics related to entrepreneurship were presented by International participants from Singapore, Malaysia and Egypt, faculties from local universities and faculties and students of Manipal University, Dubai. The major highlight of the conference was its key note speaker- Dr. Norris Krueger, an eminent academician and entrepreneur from USA. Dr Krueger delivered the keynote address on “Are we moving the needle in entrepreneurship education? How would we know?” He accentuated upon the importance of project-based learning to bolster entrepreneurship education. The participants had an enriching learning experience and were benefitted from the pool of extensive entrepreneurial knowledge. Committed to create a learning environment for young entrepreneurs and innovators, School of Business, Manipal University, Dubai intends to conduct more such impactful conferences in the future.
