Thammasat Business School Cooperates with Laos Becoming the Center of Business Education in CLMV

Thammasat Business School, Thammasat University, promotes itself to be the education center for business administration in CLMV countries, including Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam. TBS has achieved Triple Crown Accreditation award. Therefore, if TBS becomes the BA education center of ASEAN, it will draw more students and employees from government and private agencies in CLMV countries. Laos, a country in the middle of the Mekong River, is developing its natural and human resources. Laos is currently changing its economy from Landlocked Country into a Landlinked Country by having economic collaboration with neighboring countries, especially Thailand.

Thammasat Business School cooperates with Lao’s National Institute for Economic Research (NIER), the main institute that drives economic policy of Laos. TU has played an important role in driving and developing human resources which are the main force in strategic planning. Assoc.Prof.Dr. Piphob, Deans of Thammasat Business School and Mr. Sune Detvongsa, the Vice President of the National Institute for Economic Research, signed MOU in Vientiane. This collaboration includes mutually research, training programs, student and employee exchange, and providing scholarship to employees from NIES and partner network to study MBA and GEMBA course at TBS.

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Piphob Udon, Deans of Thammasat Business School, says that the MOU is a crucial step to Thai-Laos relationship. It also helps Thammasat Model to be known in Laos.

In addition, Assoc. Prof. Gasinee Witoonchart, President of Thammasat University, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Piphob Udon, Deans of Thammasat Business School, Asst.Prof.Dr.Surat Teerakapibal, Associate Dean for International Relations, and Asst.Prof.Dr. Dullayapak Preecharatch, Director of Master of Business Administration Program in Global Business Management (GEMBA) have a discussion with Mr. Santi Ponmeonglao, Head of Laos’ Banking Institute and the representatives from banking institute and Bank of the Lao by Banking Institute (BI). Besides, there was a discourse with Ministry of Education and Sports of Laos in terms of developing human resources, including students and creating learning curriculum in accordance with the 21st century.
