Thammasat University Hosts the 13th Thailand Renewable Energy for Community Conference

The Faculty of Science and Technology, Thammasat University, together with Thailand Renewable Energy for Community Association (TRECA), and Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi organized the 13rd Thailand Renewable Energy for Community Conference (TREC13) under the theme of “Community Energy in a New Way of Life”.

Dr.Prasert Sinsukprasert, Director-General of the Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency, Ministry of Energy, delivered the opening remark and short speech on “Community Energy in a New Way of Life”. Moreover, Assoc. Prof. Gasinee Witoonchart, Rector of Thammasat University, and Assoc.Prof.Dr.Sujira Korjitmet, Vice Rector of Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi delivered the welcoming remark to the attendees.

During the opening ceremony, Miss Duangporn Thiengwatanatham, Senior Executive Vice President of PTT Public Company Limited gave a special discourse on “The Community Energy Network Driving the Community’s Economy”.

The main objective of this conference is to disseminate research and innovation of academics, students, the general public, and local government organizations in terms of renewable energy for communities.

There are 6 main research topics, including energy innovation, energy for agriculture, the environment for communities, communities’ fuel and heat, communities’ electricity, and community energy management with digital technology.

The aim is to create a network to support the renewable energy of the country focusing on energy adoption and energy management models for practical and suitable use for the community in Thailand.

The 13th Thailand Renewable Energy for Community Conference (TREC13) was held during 5-7 November 2020 at The Faculty of Science and Technology, Thammasat University, Rangsit Campus.
