Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia was recently conferred the 2019 PIXI AWARDS by Mr. Bily Yap Yik Foong, General Manager, of Graphic Communication Services, and Ms. Elisabeth Wong Poh Cheng, General Manager of Sales Operations – Fuji Xerox Pte. Ltd. (Malaysia Operations) during a courtesy call to the Vice-Chancellor.
The ceremony that could not be held because of the pandemic instead became a presentation to the winners at the Vice Chancellor’s office on the main campus in Shah Alam.
10 countries and 248 participants took part in this international competition and UiTM was selected as the winner for 3 different categories namely Education Sector, Art Reproduction, and Limited Edition for its exceptional quality and creativity in applying the Fuji Xerox digital printing technology.
The winning works were a part of the 2019 UiTM Ads Campaign “RECONNECT YOUR WORLD” (C60) – 2nd Place, Art Foundation exhibition book (V2100) – 2nd Place, and Fone Shark Case (V80) – 2nd Place.
On the same day, a quick sharing session was arranged and conducted by Fuji Xerox Malaysia’s (FXM) team comprising Mr. A. Sivapragasam, Ms. Carrie Foo, Mr. Wayne Lau Chuan Yee, and Mr. Law Jia Wei. PIXI AWARDS is now in its 12th year celebrating and recognizing excellence in digitally printed works across the region which are judged by an independent panel of print industry experts.
The university is proud of the team of Curated Ads Campaign (composed of alumni, staff, and students from various departments/faculties namely design, communications, and linguistic) led by UiTM GESTURZ and Art Foundation Department Shah Alam Campus and Printing Technology Department Puncak Alam Campus (both from the Faculty of Art & Design) for winning the awards and Institute of Quality and Knowledge Advancement (InQKA) for synergizing the initiative that led to the success.
