UiTM Medical Researchers Received Korean Diabetes Association Travel Grant

Six researchers from the Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Teknologi MARA,(UiTM) Malaysia were the proud recipients of the Korean Diabetes Association Travel Grant for International Congress of Diabetes and Metabolism (ICDM) 2019. They were Dr. Nurul Alimah Abdul Nasir, Maryam Hanah Daud, Muhammad Zulfiqah Sadikan, Muhammad Fattah Fazel and Mohamad Haiqal Nizar Mohamad.

ICDM is a platform where researchers from Asia and worldwide gather to discuss on updates and novel management practices in diabetes mellitus. It is an annual event organized by the Korean Diabetes Association. This year, the event took place from 10th to 12th October 2019 at Grand Hilton Hotel, Seoul, Korea. Prior to this congress, the Korean Diabetes Association awarded USD 1000 Travel Grant to researchers who had submitted outstanding abstracts for presentation during the IDCM.

The recipients had made use of this opportunity to disseminate their various research findings on diabetes mellitus while gaining more knowledge from renowned international expert speakers on diabetes management and research. Other than that, they were able to build international networking relationship with various researchers from all over the world.
