UNIVERSITAS AIRLANGGA NEWS – To be among top world-class universities, Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) has conducted many collaborations in the fields of joint research and student exchange programs with foreign institutions. Most recently, UNAIR held a meeting with Campus France Agency representatives to discuss the educational program to be held in the future on Wednesday, February 5, 2020.
The meeting was held in Rector UNAIR’s meeting room Campus C Management Office, with Mr. Jean Franchois Dutrey and Mme. Indri Novita Sari as a representative of Campus France Agency. UNAIR representatives were the deans from science and technology faculties, such as Faculty of Medicine (FK), Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), and Faculty of Fisheries and Marine (FPK).
Also attending the meeting, Dian Ekowati SE, M.Si., M.AppCom (OrgCh)., Ph.D Head of Airlangga Global Engagement (AGE) and Vice Rector I Prof. Dr. Dra. Ni Nyoman Tri Puspaningsih., M.Si as chair of the meeting.
Mr. Jean Franchois Dutrey or Mr. Dutrey in the meeting conveyed some details related to the programs of Campus France Agency. One of them is the new program, the “French + Sciences” short study stays program in which students not only gain learning experience in their field of study.
“Our aim is to promote technological skills in France and the excellence of scientific training there, with our tagline ” Highlight French technological know-how by removing language barriers “,” said Mr. Dutrey.
In the offered program, based on Dutrey’s explanation, there will be a scholarship mechanism given by Campus France Academy to students of Universitas Airlangga. Prof. Nyoman responded that it is an interesting and unique program.
“I think it’s very rare to have such a program. Educational programs in forms of short courses or exchanges in France require participants to at least master French at the B1 or B2 level, while this program does not require that, “said Prof. Nyoman.
“In fact, later on, they will get language training directly at their institution. So, in my opinion, this is a very unique and interesting,“ added the new vice rector appointed in December 2019.
The vice rector in charge of education, student and international affairs also said that this program was in line with the national program “Merdeka Belajar (Freedom of Learning)” mandated to Indonesian universities.
“Furthermore, this program is also in line with the policy of ”Merdeka Belajar “which has also been conceptualized by the rector. Of course, this is a good opportunity to implement the policy for students, ” she concluded. (*)
