UNY Creates Prototype of Aircraft Simulator that Provides the Sensation of Flying a Real Aircraft

Not everyone has the opportunity to fly a plane considering the high cost of becoming a licensed pilot, but now it is made possible by Ponco Walipranoto, M.Pd from Electronics & Informatics Engineering Education, Faculty of Engineering at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), together with UNY’s alumni, Mukhlas Fajar Putra, Wasang Juwi Pracihno, and Wawan.

They created a prototype of an aircraft simulator that provides the sensation of flying a real plane. This simulator is built by paying much attention to the details of Boeing 737 aircraft, especially the cockpit which is an exact 1:1 replica of the actual cockpit. The cockpit uses the LED monitor screen to capture the actual experience of maneuvering, acceleration or handling of emergency environments through augmented reality.
